Using the Score Report to View Patterns in Student Scores

In CourseWave, the Score Report allows you to view patterns or trends in student scores. With these insights, you can identify class-wide or individual strengths and weaknesses and tailor your instruction to meet the needs of your students.

To view a score report, navigate to www.coursewave.com and log in to your account. On your dashboard, click on the resource with the test you’d like to view. A list of tests will appear on your screen.

Select the test you’d like to view, and click on the test title. Do not click the button that says “View,” that will bring you to the test content instead. Once you’ve clicked on the test title, you will see the student submissions that you have received. Above this list, you will see a white button that says “View Score Report.” Click on this button to open your score report.

The score report will display each student’s results on rows, and individual questions in columns. The individual final score can be found at the far right, and the class average at the bottom.

On some assessments, such as pretests and posttests, the corresponding state standards will appear across the top of the report above each question. This allows instructors to view how well each student is testing against each standard, identify learning gaps, and create a data-driven instruction plan.

At the top of your screen, you’ll see text entry boxes where you can filter the report by standard or by student, allowing you to quickly check the progress on your instruction goals. You can use the Standard Report to identify which tests and questions will cover each standard.

To export the data in this report as either a .CSV or a .XLSX file, simply click the appropriate export button on the left hand side of your screen, under the title of the test.
