When a school or school system purchases workbooks or eBooks from American Book Company, CourseWave codes are automatically generated and sent to the purchaser in a spreadsheet so that student information can be added before importing to CourseWave. If you have not received this spreadsheet, please contact American Book Company at 888-264-5877 or [email protected] for assistance.
To import your CourseWave codes in a spreadsheet, please make sure each code has a student name associated with the code. There are also fields in the spreadsheet for a student ID number and a student email address, however the only required fields are the code and the student name. If either of those fields is blank, you will receive an error. Note: it is important to use the students’ actual unique names in your spreadsheet in order to distinguish one student’s test submission from another. Teachers should not use their own name in place of their students’ names.
Make sure the codes you are attempting to import are CourseWave codes and not Redshelf eBook codes. CourseWave codes are ten digits long; Redshelf eBook codes are sixteen digits long.
Make sure the codes you are attempting to import have not already been used by another teacher. Each code pairs one student with one resource. If the code has already been imported and assigned to another student, you cannot re-import it. If codes were uploaded to the wrong teacher account by mistake, please contact American Book Company at 888-264-5877 or [email protected] for assistance.
Did you find a mistake in a student’s name or email address or have a new student join the class? You can make corrections and enter codes manually using the manage codes feature.
Visit your dashboard and click on the resource you’d like to manage. You will find a “Manage Codes” button below the image of the book cover. After clicking on that button, you can then click on the edit option for each code and input the correct information. When you’re finished, hit “Save”.
